March for Babies!!!!!!

As you know, our little one's are truly 2 miracles on this earth. This year our family will be participating in our local March of Dimes March for Babies for the first time since we were affected by prematurity.

The March of Dimes mission statement is as follows: Our mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. We carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives. March of Dimes researchers, volunteers, educators, outreach workers and advocates work together to give all babies a fighting chance against the threats to their health: prematurity, birth defects, low birthweight.

I truly believe in the March of Dimes mission, and feel that their research has truly helped the doctors and nurses to provide Kylin and Preston with their best chance of survival. I never understood the impact of prematurity on the family, community and world until we became the parents of 2 high risk babies. The are many miracle stories like ours, but there are also many sad and tragic stories of babies who fight and fight, but lose their battle for life.

We invite any family/friends to join us on the walk, it will be April 26th, 2008 in Fargo. I am planning to have some t-shirts made and make a day of it! I have set our goal at a meager $700, and any contributions towards our goal will be greatly appreciated! You can donate online by clicking on the purple "March for Babies " link on the side of this blog, or contact me regarding other ways to contribute. Thank you in advance!!!
