After a very long week of coughing, vomiting, and wiping of noses, I am happy to say we are healthy again. KNOCK ON WOOD! Preston got by with a long, but mild version of what Kylin had, but they both proved that they are tough cookies. I can definitely see how RSV in smaller babes would be such a detriment. What a horrible virus to watch in action! Kylin still has the occasional mucus in her throat that causes her to gag and throw up, but it's definitely improving. We are now done giving her neb treatments and she is done with her short dose of steroids. Now we have to work on getting some weight back on that girl!
This past weekend was Dad's birthday (he's 32 now)! We went out to dinner on Friday night at a very nice restaurant, and had a very nice/quick meal out! Thanks Kari for watching our kids for us!!!!
Mom and Dad spent much of the weekend at the hospital visiting Grandma after her surgery, and then she had to return to surgery due to a large hematoma at her surgical sight. Grandpa K started having chest pain while we were waiting for Grandma to get out of surgery, and he got admitted for observation. What a whirlwind of activity!!!! Grandpa K is now out of the hospital, and Grandma K is hoping to get discharged today.
The vocabulary around here is picking up at bit lately. Preston is beginning to finally use some phrases/sentences. He is absolutely obsessed with cell phones, and the other morning he knew that Dad had his cell phone and Preston was trying to find out where it was "hiding." He looked at Dad and said "where is it the phone (he pronounces it pone)?" Of course as a reward for using words Dad decided he could have the phone for a bit. Kylin hasn't been much of a talker lately. She is still only using 1 and 2 word phrases, but she has a wide variety of words she uses consistently.
I don't think I have ever talked about all of our stuffed friends we have acquired around here. When Kylin had her tonsils out in Nov., she was given a stuffed gorilla which Preston has since adopted. He goes everywhere with "monkey", and if Monkey gets lost, Preston wanders the house calling for "Monnnnnnnkkkkkeeeeyyy??" He gets so excited when he finds him, and life is good again. Kylin has adopted a bright yellow and blue bear from daycare, and she totes that bear all over also. The kids at daycare are very aware of their stuffed friends, and they are always helping us find Monkey and bear when I go to get them after work.
If all goes as planned, Mom and Dad have a weekend get-away planned! We are planning to go to a resort for couples workshop being put on by the military for any members. We get to go to this resort, attend classes, have alone time and re-connect. I am quite excited to spend some alone time with my husband!
Better get ready for work!!!!
