On Wednesday Kylin had her surgery to remove her tonsils! She did great, and doesn't act at all like a child who had surgery. The surgery only took about 15 minutes, but by the time we got to see her in recovery it was about 1hour. She was very happy to see Mom come to hold her after all of the excitement. Kylin drank lots of fluids, plus we were able to give her more fluids through her G-tube. By lunch time, Kylin wanted to eat tacos with us, but we could only share the soft tortilla and she ate jello and ice chips. The girl loves her ice! We hung out in the hospital for the afternoon, she took a few naps and complained all day about the "oh-oh" on her hand ( her IV). By 5 pm we got rid of the IV and put on a "pretty" pink bandaid. She ate a great amount of mac and cheese and apple juice for supper, and by 5:30 pm we came home. She received Tylenol with codeine and she is doing so well. We even felt that she was well enough to attend Thanksgiving festivities yesterday. She is playing like normal and eating very well. Her biggest dilemma at Thanksgiving was her desire to eat chips and being deprived so we could avoid her bleeding. The doctor said that her adenoids were huge and her tonsils didn't look too bad considering how much trouble they have given us. The lack of adenoids is very noticable at night, she snores much more quietly and hopefully will rest better without the apnea.
Preston did well while he stayed at Grandma and Grandpa G's house for 2 days, but he was a holy terror for Thanksgiving at Uncle Mike and Aunt Teresa's yesterday. It was great to see him, and we missed him lots. Grandma said he did well and was well behaved at her house, but wow did he put on a show of attitude yesterday throwing fits and being mean to his sister all day long. Preston is feeling much better since he has been on the antibiotics, so we have kicked his first round of tonsilitis in the butt and hopefully it doesn't return.
