Kylin is now over 20 pounds!!!!!!!!!!! On Monday when we weighed her she was 20 pounds and 1 oz. She is 21 months and finally we hit this mark! She actually beat Preston on the scale for the first time ever, as he was 19 pounds 8 ounces (same weight as last month). His eating has decreased lately and we are trying to push the fattening stuff so that he can regain those precious ounces.
Both kids are really making some big strides in the language area this week. Both kids are repeating consonants and using more inflection when they speak. New words for Preston this week include "Amen", "night, night", "please", "uck" (for yuck-Kylin says this too), "up" and "down". Kylin repeats many things also, and when I try to get her to say her brother's name, she has come up with a word that has an "S" in the middle of it, but I am not sure about the pronunciation of the rest of the word.
Earlier this week our EI friends were here to evaluate things, and they did some basic checklists of developmental activities and both kids were between 18-21 months for gross motor and they will do the fine motor and speech evals next time.
Our new game this week is "where is it?" I ask both kids where something is, and they both put their hands up (as if to say I don't know) and they begin looking for the object or person we have identified as "it".
Today we got a toy keyboard with a microphone and they love to sing in the microphone and hear their voices come out of the speaker. They haven't figured out that you don't have to have the microphone in your mouth to make it work, but they love it!

Congratulations -- what great news. :) Hopefully Preston can join her in the 2-0 club soon. My 2 1/2 year old still says "uck" for yuck!
