Preston is loving his new found freedom of exploring the outdoors. Yesterday we went into our backyard, and immediately he found the landscape rocks, picked up three and began throwing them and laughing. The male genetics are completely apparent in everything he does lately. He climbs on anything and everything that he can. Our activity table is now a new place to try to stand up and see out the windows. He now crawls under the bed in our extra bedroom and gets so upset when he gets stuck under there. Thankfully he is very flexible and can pretty much fold himself in half and get back out (with a little help). He is completely drawn to water running in the gutters and on the sidewalk, so we will definitely need extra Spray N Wash this summer. Preston has decided that all doors must be open if closed and closed if open (even if his sister is in the way). He has no fears, just ambition and tons of curiosity and energy.
Right vs. Wrong
We should have named him "Billy" (goat)
I found an open door, let's explore!
Since it was so nice out yesterday, we went to the park and we checked out their walking skills in the sand. Preston did pretty well at staying upright, but when he did fall down he wasn't so sure about the grainy stuff between his fingers and he just sat and stared at his hands. There were two kids at the park and Kylin and Preston loved watching them play and they got to swing together on the tire swing. Both Kylin and Preston took a ride down the slide, and Preston had a huge smile at the bottom when Dad caught him, but Kylin had a serious face and made a short "Hmm" noise. After sitting in the dirt and sand, it was definitely time for a nice warm bath!!!! Hopefully all the sun outside will motivate Miss Kylin to walk and experience the outdoors from a higher vantage point.
What you can't see on this picture is that she
already has a pacifier in her mouth, but she is prepared if she loses it.
Say cheese and macaroni!
Yesterday over Dad's lunch hour we went to the DMV to get new liscense plates (you read it here Mike) and while we were there, I needed to sign a form and so I set Kylin on the edge of the counter and held one arm around her. The second that I put her down she got upset like she does when we take her to the clinic and put her on the exam table. She panicked, cried and had huge tears until I picked her back up. Our appointment at the clinic today for shots won't help ease her mind any I am sure.
Practicing sharing
Todays weights: Kylin 19 pounds (minus a few ounces for a wet diaper) and Preston 18 pounds 12 ounces. Mom is searching Ebay for our new carseats and then we can face forward in the car when we hit 20 lbs!
